Ndu Council Adopts Groundbreaking Program Budget for 2025

The Ndu Council has approved an ambitious budget of 871,005,000 FCFA for 2025, marking a significant milestone in governance and local development. This budget reflects the council’s shift to the innovative #Program_Budget_System, a model focused on achieving specific objectives rather than merely allocating resources based on availability.

This transformative approach enables the integration of projects submitted by Village and Neighborhood Committees from all parts of the subdivision. The selected projects, tailored to meet local development needs, will be implemented over a three-year period, ensuring long-term sustainability and inclusivity.

In adopting the Program Budget, Ndu Council sets a precedent as the first in the division to implement this modern system. This landmark move was further underscored by the historic participation of Village and Neighborhood Committee Coordinators in the budget session, a significant step towards decentralization and community engagement.

Speaking during the session, council authorities emphasized that moving forward, no project will be executed in any village or quarter unless it originates from the respective Village and Neighborhood Committees. This policy shift aims to empower grassroots communities and align development initiatives with their immediate needs and priorities.

The session, which unveiled this progressive vision, was also notable for being the first to be held in the new council hall, which is nearing completion. Once finalized, the hall is expected to provide a conducive environment for the council’s deliberations and engagements.

The adoption of the Program Budget highlights the Ndu Council’s commitment to innovation, inclusivity, and sustainable development, setting a benchmark for other councils in the division and beyond.
