Job Description:

The Ndu Council is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Legal Officer to provide legal advice and representation to the council. The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of legal matters, including contract drafting, litigation, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Legal Advice: Provide sound legal advice to the council on a variety of legal issues, including contract law, property law, administrative law, and constitutional law.
  • Contract Drafting and Review: Draft, review, and negotiate contracts on behalf of the council.
  • Litigation: Represent the council in legal proceedings, including civil and criminal cases.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Policy Development: Assist in the development and implementation of legal policies and procedures.
  • Legal Research: Conduct legal research to support decision-making and problem-solving.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Legal Qualification: A law degree from a recognized university.
  • Bar Admission: Must be a member of the Cameroon Bar Association.
  • Experience: At least 3 years of relevant legal experience, preferably in local government or public sector.
  • Strong Legal Knowledge: A deep understanding of Cameroonian law, particularly local government law and land law.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide practical solutions.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
