Marriage Procedures at the Civil Status Department
To obtain a marriage certificate in Ndu, please follow these steps:
Initial Registration
- Identity Verification: Both individuals intending to marry must present their national identity cards to the Civil Status Department.
- Publication Period: After registration, a one-month publication period is observed. This is to ensure that there are no legal impediments to the marriage.
Marriage Ceremony
- Scheduling:
- Friday Weddings: If you prefer to marry on a Friday, please submit your documents four business days in advance (Monday to Friday).
- Other Days: For weddings on days other than Friday, consult the Civil Status Department to arrange a suitable time.
- Witness Requirements: Each individual must provide two witnesses, who should also present their national identity cards.
Required Documents
- Six photocopies of the couple’s national identity cards
- Four passport-sized photographs of the couple together (with the bride on the left)
